Why is our payout account marked as “unverified”?

Before you can receive payouts from Checkin to a payout account, we must verify that the account is owned by your organization. This ensures that funds are safely transferred to the correct account.
Checkin is a licensed payment institution authorized by the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet). We adhere to strict regulations for secure and accurate handling of funds. One such requirement is that payouts can only be made to bank accounts registered to the organization listed in Checkin.

To verify ownership of Norwegian account numbers, we automatically check the KAR register (Account and Address Register), which links account numbers to organization numbers.

If the account number matches the organization number, it is automatically approved.

If not, the account will appear as “unverified” in your finance dashboard. Non-Norwegian accounts are also not automatically verified.

What can you do if your account is “unverified”?

1. Try another account registered to your organization.

2. Send documentation confirming ownership, such as:

  • A confirmation from your bank that the account belongs to your organization.
  • A bank statement showing the organization’s name and account number, and confirmation from a person with signatory rights that the account can be used in Checkin.

Send the documentation to support@checkin.no, and we will manually verify the account.

To prevent incorrect payouts, money laundering, and fraud, we cannot process payouts to unverified accounts.
